Yashwant Sinha anointed as Opposition Pres. Candidate

Yashwant Sinha who was a close associate of ex BJP PM and most popular leader from the party, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, got the nod to become Opposition candidate in Presidential Elections. He even served as Union Minister of External Affairs in Vajpayee’s Cabinet. He hails from Patna, Bihar and has been known for shifting parties to attain power.

He resigned to Tirunamool Congress Party vice presidency post, to be nominated as Opposition Candidate for Presidential Elections. NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Indian National Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, supported the candidacy of Yashwant Sinha.

Well, he will submit his nomination on 27th June and NDA candidate will be announced soon. Ajith Doval, National Defense Consultant or VP Venkaiah Naidu can be elected as NDA candidate for the elections.

Opposition Parties want to push Yashwant Sinha as symbol of difference between Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s BJP and current PM Narendra Modi’s NDA Government. If Oppositions can manage a coup to win this election using Yashwant Sinha’s contacts, then they might hope for anti-incumbency to help them win 2024 elections as well. Let’s wait and see.
