Wearing Hijab is a Constitutional right: Owaisi

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi was today in Uttar Pradesh to campaign ahead of the first schedule of the Assembly elections, which will start on February 10. Addressing a rally, the Hyderabad MP raised the Hijab row, which has been raging in Karnataka.

In his style, Owaisi said that he prays that “our sisters fighting for their right to wear hijab are successful in their fight.” He added that preventing them from wearing it to the college/educational institutions is a grave violation of the Constitution.

Owaisi referred to Article 15, Article 19 and Article 21 while condemning the BJP government for allegedly failing to protect the rights of minority girls.
