With physical rallies banned by the Election Commission till January 22 in all poll-bound States due to the pandemic, the political parties have had to depend on online campaigning. In this regard, the BJP is reportedly ahead in the race.
As per a report by Economic Times, the BJP has reached out to about 50 million people so far this election season in UP via online mode. “It has created more than 250 million digital impressions so far in January alone,” the report says, quoting sources.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has interacted with 10,000 booth workers via NaMo app, the report adds.
All this could mean that the BJP will continue to have a strong edge over its rival, the Akhilesh Yadav-led SP, when it comes to online campaigning.
