Ayan Mukherjee proved himself as a matured writer with Wake Up Sid and commercially unhinged & strong writing side with Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani. Now, he is coming with Ranbir Kapoor again along with Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and in a hush hush cameo Shah Rukh Khan is also part of Astraverse.
Brahmastra film is aspiring to be a franchise and makers have already planned three parts. Part One: Shiva, an intro to the world of Astraverse will release in September. The movie theatrical trailer has been unveiled on 15th June.
Nagarjuna Akkineni’s Nandi Astra shot has been used as the first shot and then we can see Ayan Mukherjee taking care of artist looks and their characteristics as well. But then the VFX doesn’t seem to be on the level of what Baahubali or RRR or few Hindi Television series are achieving. Still there is time and may be few shots will be improved with time.
The concept looks intriguing and seems like Astras taking human form has been the basics of Ayan’s Astraverse. Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo could be a highlight as even in this trailer that VFX shot stands out of all. Ayan is highly ambitious and creative with his visuals and may be more budget, time and better VFX artists could have changed first impression of VFX in the trailer. Still, with the kind of talent he assembled and the writing he is capable off, one cannot dismiss the movie this early. Karan Johar produced the film and SS Rajamouli is presenting it in Telugu.
