‘Squid Game’ effect: Netflix to bring out 25 Korean originals this year

Last year, Netflix struck gold with ‘Squid Game’, the Korean show. It also brought out several other Korean shows on which the streaming giant reportedly spent about half a billion dollars. 

The latest news is that, this year, Netflix is going to present a higher number of Korean dramas. This time, the number is 25. And, as per Hollywood Reporter, Netflix is going to spend more than half a billion dollars this time to buy them out.

It wants to improve on the popularity of Korean shows like ‘Hellbound’ this year. It’s not easy for a show to surpass the popularity of ‘Squid Game’. Korean content is much in demand everywhere, including India. That’s why Disney and HBO Max have been investing in Korean content more and more. Netflix is doing the same now.
