India enters T20 World Cup 2024 baffling England

India lost to England in a humiliating manner in T20 World Cup 2022 Semi-Finals. They managed to avenge their defeat in T20 World Cup 2024 Semi-Finals by 68 runs and entered finals. England tried to bowl Indian team out on a slow pitch with rain interruptions but India managed to score better on the D-day. England batters to play against spin.

Going into the details, England elected to field after winning the toss. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli(9) opened once again but Kohli failed. Rishabh Pant(4) also got dismissed early too. At this moment, Suryakumar Yadav joined Rohit and both of them kept attacking English bowlers. They both could put on 73-run partnership for 3rd wicket.

Rohit Sharma, once again scored fifty in an important match for India. He scored 57 runs from 39 balls and Suryakumar Yadav also did well by scoring 47 runs from 36 balls. After they both got out, Hardik Pandya(23), Ravindra Jadeja(17), Axar Patel(10) finished the innings aggressively. India scored 171/7 in 20 overs while Chris Jordan(3/37) took most wickets for England.

Despite rain interruptions, India managed such good score while England batters could not score against Indian spinners. Jos Buttler(23) tried to give an aggressive start but he fell to Axar Patel’s first ball. Patel continued to dismiss Jonny Bairstow(0), Moeen Ali(8) in his 3 overs. Bumrah also dismissed Phil Salt(8). This gave huge advantage to Indian team in first 8 overs, itself.

Kuldeep Yadav came into the attack and dismissed Harry Brook(25), Sam Curran(2), Chris Jordan(1) to completely dismantle England’s hopes. Jofra Archer scored 21 runs but he could not avert England team being dismissed for 103 runs in 16.4 overs. With 68-run win, India is looking to win their second T20 World Cup against South Africa, after their first win in 2007.
