Australia crushed hopes of Scotland to sail into Super 8 of T20 World Cup 2024 despite Scots best possible efforts. Aggressive Opener Travis Head and middle order scary all-rounder Marcus Stoinis secured a good win in chase under slight pressure. As some big stars failed with the bat in the middle, Aus felt a bit of pressure but sailed through quite easily.

Going into the details, Australia won the toss and elected to field first. Opener George Munsey scored 35 runs from 23 balls giving an aggressive start to Scotland. Even though it is a relatively high score, their half centuries helped Australia to score 155/5 in their 17 overs. Tim David scored 24 runs from 14 balls to finish the innings in 19.4 overs. Australia won the match by 5 wickets after scoring 186/5 in the final over of the match. Well, Aus advanced to Super 8 topping Group B with this win.
