India Women won Test against South Africa Women in the only Test

India Women have made history by winning Chennai Test against South Africa Women. In this test, Indian batters declared after scoring world record 603/6 in the first innings. They enforced follow-on against South Africa Women in the first innings. In the second innings, South Africa resisted Indian bowlers aggression still couldn’t save the test.

Going into the details, India Women won the toss and elected to bat first. Opener Shafali Verma scored 205 runs in record time and another opener Smriti Mandhana scored 149 runs. Both have put on 292-run partnership for the first wicket. Jemimah Rodrigues(55), Harmanpreet Kaur(69) and Richa Ghosh(86) took the score past 600, creating a new world record.

In reply, Marizanne Kapp(74) and Sune Luus(65), Nadine de Klerk(39), Anneke Bosch(39) tried hard to resist India Women bowlers. Indian off-spinner Sneh Rana took 8/77 to limit South Africa for 266 runs in the first innings. Her career best performance forced SA to follow on with over 337 runs deficit.

In the second innings, following on, Captain Laura Wolvaardt and Sune Luus put a dead bat against Indian bowlers. They both scored centuries – 122 runs and 109 runs, respectively. For the second wicket they put on 190-run partnership. Among others, Nadine de Klerk(61) tried her best to resist Indian bowlers.

India Women bowlers bowled them out for 373 runs with most of them getting wickets. With 37 runs target Indian batters came out in the second innings and scored them easily in 9.2 overs. Hence, India Women won the match by 10 wickets with Sneh Rana taking 10 wickets in the match.
