South Africa in danger of not qualifying for 2023 WC

Cricket South Africa has decided pull out of Australia bilateral series in January 2023. They have taken this decision for national players to not miss out on their new T20 League. The board is expecting great revenue from this league.

Because they have pulled out, Cricket Australia had to either push the ODIs scheduled during January to a later date or cancel. As the calendar for International tournaments is locked, they had to cancel the ODIs. By May, the ODI Super League for ICC will be over.

By that time, which all teams end up in TOP 8 points wise will directly qualify. Right now, South Africa is at No.11 and they have to play out of their skins and win all matches to be able to end in No.8 for direct qualification to CWC 2023.

South Africa board is facing financial difficulties and they want their T20 league to do well. Because of them pulling out and conceding South Africa will lose 30 points in ICC ODI league board and Australia have gained those 30 points.
