Public Talk: Keerthy Suresh’s Chinni gains mixed talk

Keerthy Suresh is mixing up big star films with medium budget concept oriented films. Recently, she starred in Rajnikanth’s Annatthe and her long delayed Good Luck Sakhi released on OTT platforms. Now, her next film Saani Kaayidham/ Chinni released in Tamil and Telugu languages on Amazon Prime Video.

Tamil legendary director Selva Raghavan acted in the movie as elder brother of Keerthy Suresh. Movie is a revenge drama which involves a woman taking revenge of perpetrators in brutal fashion.

Critics liked the visuals and performances but did find mistakes in narrative. When it comes to common audiences reaction, few found the movie to be too long and few found it too brutal and unfit for family viewing. Some commented on the brilliance of director Arun Matheswaran in handling a simple revenge drama in gripping and intriguing manner.

On the other hand, some called it too slow for their liking. Arun came up with Rocky, a revenge drama earlier and called his two movies as part of revenge trilogy. On the whole, movie gained a mixed response and for those who enjoy nuances in films and like to watch intense dramas can give it a try.
