Kalki 2898 AD prelude: Nag Ashwin reveals Mahabharatam connection

Nag Ashwin explains his motivation behind Kalki 2898 AD

Kalki 2898 AD team has started promoting the film in their unique style. They released Diljit Dosanjh featured Bhairava Anthem recently and now, they released Prelude to Kalki. Director Nag Ashwin, the creator of this Kalki cinematic Universe, revealed how he conceived the idea for this epic film.

He stated that he took inspiration from comic book movies and major telugu blockbusters as well. Nag Ashwin further stated that he wanted to include Indian superheroes into world class sci-fi genre and hence, he brought Mahabharatam connection into this sci-fi film, Kalki 2898 AD.

Further, he said that in their 5 years journey of conceiving this film, they tried to envision Kaliyuga’s end and sequel to Mahabharata in present trends. He stated that after Krishna avatar, he wanted to imagine how Vishnu avatar will fight with Kali, who is set to take a new form after being Ravan and Duryodhana in previous yugas.

Kalki 2898 AD is releasing on 27th June worldwide. The buzz for the movie is huge and leading actor Prabhas is expected to deliver a 1000 crore grosser at the box office with this one. Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani are playing other leading roles in this apocalypse themed film.
