Superstar of Telugu Cinema Mahesh Babu managed to deliver hat-trick blockbuster hits with Bharat Ane Nenu, Maharshi and Sarileru Neekevvaru. The third movie opened to record breaking first day number for any Telugu movie sans Baahubali 2. After Sarileru Neekevvaru, he had been forced to take two years gap due to global pandemic and now, he is ready to rock the box office with Sarkaaru Vaari Paata. Keerthy Suresh after some time got a chance to share screen with a star hero in Telugu Cinema. Parasuram Petla directed a huge star hero for the first time too. Let’s discuss about their combined efforts in the movie

As per the story, Sarkaaru Vaari Paata follows Mahesh (Mahesh Babu), who runs a private finance company in USA. He is very ruthless when it comes to lending movie, unless he is satisfied with the background of a person, he won’t give them a penny and he is equally harsh on people who try to default the amount. He goes to any length to recover the amount he lent and is ready to against the most powerful people too. Kalavathi (Keerthy Suresh) uses all the bag of tricks she can to take loan from him and smitten by her, he lends her amounts without any security. When she refuses to pay, he lands in India, at her house and threatens her father Rajendranath (Samuthirakani) to repay the ten thousand crores, he owes him. How come Rajendranath owes Mahesh money? What is their connection? Watch the movie to know more.

Technically, art department and Cinematographer Madhie managed to give grand visuals that we have come to associate with Mahesh’s films. Few VFX shots could have been executed better but on the whole team did a nice job. Editing by Marthand K. Venkatesh is underwhelming as few jerks between the scenes make it feel like a rushed job. Parasuram Petla as a writer tried hard to elevate the material in his hands to Superstar Mahesh level but scenes in second half did not match to the previous films of the actor. First half had a good flow and Mahesh carried the comedy portions with a lot of ease. While the actor tried to elevate the scenes in second half, writing couldn’t give him enough scope. Keerthy Suresh tried her best but her character could have been more well defined and scenes could have been better.

Vennela Kishore scores in comedy portions bringing back the memories of Dookudu. Mahesh looks and performance are major highlights of this film. He shouldered many sequences with ease and in first half, he looked the best. He again rocked the dance floor in Mahesha and Kalavathi songs, in two different freestyle dancing genres. Keerthy Suresh needs to find that perfect look that is apt for her as she looked too lean in few scenes. Samuthirakani, Subbaraju did not get much to do as their characters are not defined well enough. On the whole, Parasuram Petla did have the ambition to deliver a Super Mass Entertainer with Superstar but his writing is found wanting in few areas. Mahesh carried the film on his shoulders and for him, we can easily watch the film.
