Maharastra: BJP – Rebel Shivsena to form Government?

Maharastra Politics have taken an unexpected turn when Eknath Shinde announced no-confidence in Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Shivsena party always fought against Congress mark politics and the party. They have been an ally of BJP for a long time.

As Devendra Fadnavis BJP did not offer Chief Minister post to Shivsena’s Uddhav Thackeray, he chose to support NCP and Congress to form MVA. Other Shivsena MLAs did not anticipate or like this move. Still, Uddhav went with his guts rather than listening to his party majority leaders. BJP offered other posts than the CM chair as they were able to become the single largest party among all with 106 seats.

Hence, Eknath Shinde is gaining more support than usual. Almost 42 MLAs out of 55 Shivsena MLAs have joined Rebel camp and 5 Independent MLAs have also given Eknath their support. BJP high command doesn’t want to lose out on this opportunity and they have called up Devendra Fadnavis to discuss further steps.

NCP and Congress are hoping that Uddhav Thackeray will pull out some rabbit under the hat before assembly no-confidence motion. Hence, they have announced their support to Uddhav and are waiting for Eknath camp to return. With 40 MLAs on his side, Eknath can claim to be the leader of Shivsena Legislative Party in Assembly and Uddhav Thackeray will have no rights to claim himself as leader of Shivsena in Assembly. If that would be the case as it looks likely to be, Maharastra government will be formed by Rebel Shivsena and BJP for sure.
