Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray ready to resign

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray spoke to public via Facebook Live and stated that he would like to resign from his position immediately. He said that being son of Balasaheb Thackeray, he wouldn’t look to hang on to power by some or other means.

He commented that some would come to power in honest way and some in corrupted ways. He stated that Shivsena came to power as NCP chief Sharad Pawar requested him to join them and they formed Maha Vikas Aghadi.

“Sharad Pawar requested me to be CM. I became Chief Minister by accident not by choice. I did not force anyone to nominate me. Even today, Congress leader Kamalnath asked me to continue as CM. If someone is upset over my leadership, they can talk to me directly. They can express their discomfort, dissatisfaction in a democratic way. I am ready to resign to Shivsena leadership along with Chief Minister post. It is different to have someone else from other parties expressing dissatisfaction. My own party members have done this. I am being cheated and betrayed, mybtrust has been violated. I no longer wish to continue in leadership. Shivsena always stands by Hindutva and as Balasaheb Thackeray’s party it would carry forward his ideology further. There will never be change in that. Some of the MLAs are calling me and saying that they have been kidnapped and forced to go against me. If someone from Shivsena will be CM tomorrow, I will be happy,” shared Uddhav Thackeray on Facebook Live.

On the other hand, Eknath Shinde group submitted letter to Governor that they have elected Shinde as their leader in Assembly and he should be regarded as Shivsena Legislative Party leader in Maharashtra Assembly. Total 30 MLAs from Shivsena and 4 Independents signed on the letter submitted to Governor. NCP, Congress leaders have reached to Uddhav Thackeray’s residence to discuss further action.
