Legendary Batter Mithali Raj announced retirement

If comparisons have to be made woman batter Mithali Raj is what Sachin Tendulkar is for Indian mens cricket. She is absolute legend in Indian and International cricket. She is the first woman to score 10,000 runs in Internationals.

She scored 7000 runs in ODIs and she is the only one to achieve that. She has been skipper for Team India in ODIs till the recently concluded ODI World Cup. She came into news due to her controversial photoshoots and some statements but they never bring her stature as a cricketer down ever.

She has been slow in recent games and even though she scored half centuries in key times, she couldn’t bat team out of trouble. She scored 64 half centuries in ODIs and 2364 runs in T20Is. She has highest score of 97 not out in T20Is.

She aggregated 7805 runs in 232 ODIs and played 12 Tests for India and scored 699 runs. Well, at 39 age, she has decided to quit playing the game. She announced her retirement from all forms of cricket, with a heartfelt letter thanking her supporters and wishing all the bright future for new exciting talents.
