KJO says no more “Koffee with Karan”

Karan Johar, the famous Bollywood producer and director has turned into a popular host on Television with Koffee with Karan. The show ran for six seasons and in each season KJO managed to bring in latest trending celebrities from Bollywood and have chat with them over coffee couch.

His show has run into controversies as celebrities opened up and took digs on others in a funny way. The initial seasons did not see much controversies much later ones had few younger generation stars like Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt taking digs on several popular actors and then the others reacting to them strongly.

Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul appeared on the show once and their comments on BCCI selection committee and National cricket team selectors did run them into trouble. Several segments in the show also received negative comments for boldness in the language.

From past few days rumors have been aplenty about the show returning or not returning for next season. There was a lot of confusion about Karan Johar cracking a deal with the host channel for next season. Some reports suggested the show will return and several suggested that it won’t. Finally, KJO himself announced that the show will not return for next season.

He said in his note that the show has made an impact and made a place for itself in pop culture history. He called the show as part of his life and with a very heavy heart he made this decision.
