Baahubali inspired KGF makers to go for two part series and expand their story. Just like Baahubali, even KGF delivered huge blockbuster at the box office with the second part. Hence, the movie is now All-Time second highest grosser in Hindi behind Baahubali 2.
Eid is a big holiday in North Indian markets and that has propelled the collections of the film as no new Hindi films could gain public interest. Heropanti 2 got rejected while Runway 34 is not finding audiences. On Eid day, KGF Chapter 2 collected 9 crores Nett gross and on the next day, it collected 8 crores. With this phenomenal performance, the movie crossed Dangal life time collections and it is now at 391 crores Nett gross.
Movie will definitely touch 400 crores Nett gross and it will be the second film to achieve that landmark behind Baahubali 2, which collected Rs. 510 crores Nett gross in Hindi. Cumulatively, KGF Chapter 2 has collected more than 1000 crores gross and few trade analysts have stated that it grossed more than RRR.
Kerala, Karnataka and Hindi markets have responded to the film in a huge way and even in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states movie has grossed more than any dubbed film. Baahubali 2 scored huge in North America and elsewhere around the world and KGF Chapter 2 relied more on Indian markets than the overseas, as Kannada films don’t have wide overseas reach. KGF franchise might have opened gates for it too.
Kannada Star Hero Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, Archana Jois have acted in prominent roles in the film. Director Prashanth Neel is currently concentrating on his next film, Salaar starring Prabhas and Shruthi Haasan for KGF series producers, Hombale Films.
