Kamal Haasan ruled Tamil Cinema during the 80’s along with Superstar Rajnikanth. Without limiting himself to Tamil Cinema, he acted in majority of Indian languages to be known as Universal Star or Ulaganayan. After Mani Ratnam’s Nayagan, it has become a dream of every director to make a movie with him in the lead.

In 90’s Superstar Rajnikanth grew bigger than any other star and Kamal Haasan’s few huge projects did not take off and several did not meet the high expectations of his fans. His last commercial blockbuster is Vishwaroopam and now the actor is hoping to deliver one more big hit with Vikram.

He started working on Indian 2, sequel to his All Time Blockbuster and cult hit, Indian/Bharateeyudu with director Shankar, but the project has been put on hold due to issues raised between producers, actor and director following a major accident on sets at EVP studios in Chennai. Indian 2 movie might start to complete post the actor and director finish their other commitments.

Kamal Haasan decided to start Vikram in the direction of latest sensation in Tamil Cinema Lokesh Kanagaraj, director of Khaidi and Master on his own production house Raaj Kamal International post Tamil Nadu elections. This is a very exciting combo to watch on screen as actors who are regarded the finest in Indian Cinema are coming together.

The latest update from the movie is that the non-theatrical rights, that is, Satellite and OTT rights have been sold to Star Network for an undisclosed price. Trade analysts from Kollywood claim it to be a record breaking amount for any Kamal film. Movie will be telecasted on Star channels and will be available for streaming on Disneyplus Hotstar.
