Jagdeep Dhankar to be NDA’s Vice President candidate

Jagdeep Dhankar, West Bengal Governor has been announced as NDA’s Vice Presidential Candidate on 16th July. Many thought BJP Minority cell leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will get the Vice President nomination as BJP wants to clean their image as radicals, anti-minorities.

Already, BJP gave Presidential nomination to Draupadi Murumu, first Scheduled Tribe person to ever be nominated for such President post. Hence, many thought they will go with Naqvi’s nomination. But they have given a shock to many by going for Bengal governor.

Looks like BJP wants to keep a check on Tirunamool Congress Party leader and Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamatha Banerjee. Mamatha wanted to unite Opposition against BJP and even announced Yashwanth Sinha as their candidate to put NDA in a corner.

NDA, headed by BJP took the initiative to give Bengal Governor the honor to be Vice President. This means current Vice President Venkaiah Naidu’s political career might have come to an end unless he takes some higher position in BJP party.
