IPL 2022: RCB vs GT: Luck favors RCB and Kohli

There are always two sides to a coin and it depends on your viewpoint which side you choose. Luck favors the brave and RCB played fearlessly without putting themselves under pressure. Virat Kohli found his mojo or more apt to say close to his normal best to help RCB cross the line against Gujarat Titans, the table toppers this season.

With this win, RCB improved their chances to qualify and even given Delhi Capitals fair chance to fight it out. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings have been eliminated from the competition after their victory. Their final match on Sunday will be a good chance to look at their bench strength and possible squad for next season.

Against Mohammad Shami, Kohli needed some luck to survive but he seemed determined to not let the opportunity go at all. He made 73 runs in 54 balls. Captain Faf du Plessis also came good and both of them have put up a match winning century partnership for first wicket. Maxwell finished the game quicker and even he too had some lucky escapes and freaky shots in his innings.

Faf got bowled in Rashid Khan bowling but the bails did not leave the groove of the stumps and hence survived. RCB had that kind of night but both the veterans smashed few shots that fans will remember for years. Hardik Pandya struggled to time the ball earlier but kept his wicket intact to take his team past 160 runs and final overs blast of Rashid Khan with bat helped them reach such a score.

RCB won by 8 wickets and Virat Kohli created a record by scoring 7000 Runs for RCB and he is the first player to do so. Indian Cricket need their premiere batsman to find form and if he continues to do well, provided RCB qualifies with the help of Mumbai Indians, who can only stop Delhi Capitals from qualifying to playoffs, Indian International team supporters would breathe a sigh of relief.
