IPL 2022: CSK end with a lose but Dhoni to continue

Champions of 2021 IPL, Chennai Super Kings ended their campaign in 2022 with a loss and alike 2020, at the bottom of the table just above Mumbai Indians. Now, they have made it easy for Delhi Capitals. DC can only qualify if they win and NRR cannot help them to topple any other team.

RCB is way below in NRR and Delhi Capitals just have to worry about winning against Mumbai Indians on Saturday, 21st May. CSK batsman Moeen Ali seemed like blowing away RR single-handedly. he scored 50 runs in 19 balls and sent 5 Boult balls to boundaries in one over of powerplay.

With such a start, CSK should have been able to put up 200 but Ashwin, Chahal could spin a web and restrict the big hitters. Dhoni tried to stem flow of wickets and even Ali lost the flow. RR just had to chase down 150 but bowlers of CSK did not allow RR batsmen to dominate.

Young Yashashvi Jaiswal and Ashwin batted well to confirm the victory of RR and second place finish above Lucknow Super Giants in the table. So, DC vs MI has become the last important match in the league stage before playoffs.

Earlier, Dhoni confirmed that he will continue for CSK in 2023 season. He did not confirm if he will captain the team again but noted that the team depends on him and he cannot leave them after a season like 2022.
