Injustice for Hanuma Vihari continues..!

BCCI and the team management is absolutely doing its job fine by treating Hanuma Vihari as the reserved bench player. Despite he played brilliantly, Mr Vihari’s position was not permanent in the final eleven of team India.

BCCI and the team management has given plenty of opportunities to Pujara and Rahane but not to Vihari who was playing brilliantly. In the recent, New Zealand home series also, they didn’t give him an opportunity. After facing the backlash from the Twitterati, BCCI immediately sent to South Africa with India A team.

After Kohli was not played the second test, Vihari was given chance and utilised it brilliantly by rescuing team with some valuable contributions. In Today’s final test, he was skipped and Kohli was back in the team.

But the Rahane who was struggling due to lack of form has been continued.

As quoted by Sports analyst, Criccrazy Johns,  Hanuma Vihari played a match-saving knock at SCG on 11th January 2021.  After that match, he dropped from the playing eleven by showing the reason as a combination issue.

Since then he played just 1 Test match, scored 20(53) & 40*(84) in South Africa.

It is really inhumane from the BCCI and team management. A talented player like Hanuma Vihari’ great skills was wasted and permitted him to bench. Later, they won’t select him by showing the age factor.

These types of instances prove again and again the favouritism over north players. If Ravichandran Ashwin was a batsman, now he won’t be selected in all formats. He consistently worked hard and proved his mettle and back into the team in all formats.

If Ashwin was a batsman, despite he scored huge runs in domestic and IPL also, he won’t be selected by showing the age factor. The Karnataka batsman Karuna Nair who made a triple century in his third test was sidelined by the BCCI after one or two bad test matches.

After Sehwag, Karuna Nair was the only batsman who scored a triple century. In 2016, Karuna Nair scored a triple century against England at Chennai.

But players like Rahane and Pujara have been continuing more than a year by giving them plenty of opportunities. These were the recent examples of how BCCI has been sidelining top batsmen down south. From South, BCCI wants only bowlers and that too, spinners only.
