Indian Women win the second T20I against Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan fans thanked Australian team for touring in their country when the nation is rocked by huge financial trouble and this has become the most talked about story in cricket world. Now, Indian Women are in Sri Lanka playing T20Is and a fan saying that he came to watch Smriti Mandanna even when there is no petrol is going viral.

Coming to the game, Sri Lankan women wasted the good opening partnership of 87 in 13 overs. Captain Chamari Athapaththu got out after scoring 43 off 41 balls. Another opener Vishmi Gunaratne scored 45 runs off 50 balls. Only these two batted well and others couldn’t even cross single digits. Hence, Sri Lanka after a good start still ended up scoring only 125/7.

Indian Women had Shefali Varma scoring rapid 17 off 10 and Sabbhineni Meghana scoring another rapid 17 off 10 while opener Smriti Mandanna batted sensibly. She fell on 39 when score is at 86 in 11th over. Harmanpreet Kaur and Yashika Bhatia gave preference to taking the game deep.

Finally, Kaur finished the game in last over without much drama along with Deepti Sharma. Jemimah Rodrigues failed in this match. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 31 off 32 balls. India scored 127/5 in 19.1 overs to win the second T20I. They will play another T20I and 3 ODIs.
