Mary Kom, Saritha Devi, Lekha KC, Jenny RL won gold medals at Women World Boxing Championships. Now, Nikhat Zareen rated as one of the best ever boxer in Lightweight 52 kg division from India, delivered on the promise and won gold medal at Istanbul.
She bet the current champion, Thailand’s Jutamas Jitpong to achieve this feat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated this girl with great dreams from Telangana on Twitter and as her long time wish came true, she became a trending topic on Social media.
She told to media that injury did halt her progress but she did not let it bog down. She worked hard for two years and during lockdown too she did not miss her routine to keep herself fit and ready. Her family expressed extreme happiness and said that they are proud for her achievements.
