Indian Team completes clean sweep against West Indies

Indian team played third ODI against West Indies on 27th July at Port of Spain. They won two ODIs previously and Captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and India batted first. Dhawan and Shubman Gill put up a century stand in 22.5 overs. They scored 113 runs. The play had to be stopped due to rain at this moment.

Play continued with 36 overs for each side after rain delay. Shubman Gill continued to bat at the level as he did before break. Shreyas Iyer scored 44 runs in 34 balls. Gill couldn’t achieve century and missed by 2 runs while he stayed 98 not out. India scored 225/3 in 36 overs.

West Indies started the chase by losing Kyle Mayers, Shamarh Brooks for 0. Brandon King and Shai Hope came together but Hope got out on 47 scoring 22. Then Nicholas Pooran joined King. Axar Patel got King out for 42 and Thakur got Keacy Carty immediately. Then Pooran got out after scoring 42.

Then Chahal got 3 wickets in his two overs and he ended up with 4 wickets. West Indies got all out for 137 in 26 overs. India won by 119 runs. Shubman Gill got Player of Match and Player of Series awards in this series. India for the first time clean swept West Indies in Caribbean Islands, in an ODI series.
