Ganguly’s advice to Kohli on his form

Sourav Ganguly has become BCCI President and he has been instrumental in giving Rahul Dravid NCA, Under-19 team coach and now Indian Senior Team Head Coach. He has even brought in VVS Laxman into being NCA chief. He has been very vocal in running cricket tournaments in India and involving India in a certain pattern that brings more young talents into lime light.

As Kapil Dev, Saeed Kirmani and many seniors started being vocal about Virat Kohli’s form, Sourav Ganguly’s stand on this matter has become key. Him, as President of BCCI, can determine if Indian Team will drop Kohli for few matches or if they will give him chances at the International level.

Ganguly declared that he cannot do anything about Virat Kohli’s form. He said,” Every cricketer has gone through this. Sachin, Dravid and I, all of us have gone through this kind of phase. Kohli has been a great player for India from last 12-13 years and he knows his game. He has set his standards and he has been consistent. Without quality and talent, no one can be so good at the International level for so long. Kohli has to find a way himself. No one can really help him.”

Rohit Sharma, the current Indian Captain, backed Virat Kohli and said that Kohli knows what works for him best and being a team player, he will choose team first approach. Kohli has come out to practice in the nets ahead of second ODI against England.
