French Open: Qinwen Zheng bows out to menstrual cramps

Women go through menstrual cramps every month and they suffer extreme pain during those days. Many women tend to not talk to anyone or even take help during that time. Some try to bear the pain and work through. But it is the most difficult thing to expect as the pain would be unbearable.

Qinwen Zheng, upcoming talented women tennis player had to bow out of French Open due to menstrual cramps. She won in the first set against World No.1 Iga Swiatek with 7-6 and many thought she will pull off an upset.

But she took medical timeout due to menstrual cramps and tried to brave the situation. She continued to play and lost to Swiatek with 7-6, 0-6, 2-6 score line. She stated to press that she had wished to be a man so that she couldn’t have had to bear that pain and play to her potential.

Her rank was 74 before entering the tournament and many experts believed she could pull off some upsets. She won qualifiers, first round, second round, third round and in her pre-quarters, she faced this situation. She is all off 19 years off age and this experience will only make her strong.
