French Open: Nadal advances to Semi-Finals

Rafael Nadal seems to be unbeatable at Roland Garros. He again advanced to Semi-finals at French Open by winning against World No.1 Novak Djokovic. Novak, Federer have been able to stop him at Wimbledon, Australian Open and US Open but French Open has been ruled and conquered by only one man, that is, Nadal.

In his 21 grand slam wins, 12 are French Open titles. Such is the domination of the CLAY LEGEND at French Open. He completed rare double career slam by winning Australian Open second time this year and now, he has high hopes on 13th French Open title.

He won in his quarter final match against Djokovic with a score line, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6. He dropped only one set and both of them have played some longest rallies through out the match. Djokovic said that Nadal has been the better player on the day, post the match.

Nadal just looked like he is switched on through out the game while Djokovic looked off color. Still first serve percentage (72 – 69%) and first serve points won (65 -64%) doesn’t show much difference between the two. It is second serve points (69 – 46%) and break points (7/17 – 4/12) that really shifted the match in Nadal’s favor. Both of them for most part did not give one inch away but Nadal could create the angles to play winning shots. He will face young superstar Alexander Zverev in his Semi-Final match.
