Subramaniam Swamy has put up a Private Criminal case against Indian National Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi about their involvement in owning National Herald Newspaper. He alleged that both of them are involved in Young India company that owns the paper.
He alleged that they have acquired rights to recover Rs. 90.25 crores owed by AJL to Congress by just paying Rs. 50 Lakhs through Young India. He further alleged that through Young India they have misappropriated funds and have done money laundering as well.
Income Tax Department has already said that Rahul Gandhi made Rs. 158 crores from his partnership in YI and not just Rs. 68 lakhs. Also, they have already summoned Young India to pay Rs. 249 crores for the year 2011-12.
Now, Enforcement Directorate have summoned Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to be present in front of them for questioning regarding the misappropriating funds involving National Herald Paper. Sonia and Rahul will have to be present before ED officials by 8th June. Congress spokesperson has confirmed the news. Looks like political heat in the country is rising up again.
