BJP leader raises Galwan issue to hit out at Rahul Gandhi

On Saturday, addressing an election rally in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He said that 30-50 soldiers of China were killed by the Indian military in the Galwan clashes, unlike what has been claimed by Mr. Gandhi.

Singh, who is a senior BJP leader, alleged that Mr. Gandhi has not studied the history of ancient India. As quoted by ANI, he added that the Wayanad MP should at least study the history of modern India. 

He accused Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi of following of failing to be tough with China and Pakistan a lesson in their times. “Nehru was the PM when Pakistan handed over illegally-occupied territory of Shaksgam Valley to China. Indira Gandhi was the PM when Karakoram Highway was built in Pakistan occupied Kashmir,” he said.
