Ben Stokes becomes new English Test Captain

English Test Team is going through a rough patch after golden period. With the likes of Jos Buttler, Johnny Bairstow, James Anderson, Stuart Board and Joe Root being in form, the team has been invincible in England. Even outside their home conditions England team won most number of matches where no one expected them to perform well.

But all that is past now. Joe Root after captaining for 64 Test matches, resigned to his captaincy after recent losses in West Indies tour. In his captaincy, England won 27 Tests and he is the most successful Test captain for the team. Before his tenure, Alastair Cook captained Test team for 59 Matches and won 24 off them.

Now, ECB and Wales Cricket Board has decided to give Allrounder Ben Stokes the captaincy. Ben Stokes became a legend in English Cricket already after his famous Ashes Century and last wicket partnership in a winning cause. He is in the league of great allrounders like Flintoff, Ian Botham, Wasim Akram, Kapil Dev, Imran Khan in World Cricket.

He took a break from cricket and came back few months ago. English fans will be expecting a lot from him as he also exhibits similar never say die attitude like English white ball captain Eoin Morgan. Ben Stokes till now played 79 Tests for England and hit 5061 runs at 35.9 average. He took 174 wickets as a fast bowler.
