Australia and Sri Lanka played against each other in their first T20I at Colombo. After a solid start with 100/1, Sri Lanka lost 9 wickets for 28 runs to be all out for 128. Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets among Aus bowlers and started the collapse of SL batsmen.

Later, Aaron Finch and David Warner opened the innings for Australia in their amicable style and went on to keep unbeaten partnership of 134 runs to win the game with ten wickets.

David Warner did not let any of the Sri Lankan bowlers to settle and scored unbeaten 70. Finch scored 61 runs. Hazlewood won the man of the match award for his 4/16 bowling figures in 4 overs and playing a key factor in his team win.
