Asia Cup will commence on 27th August in Sri Lanka

Today in the Asian Cricket Council meeting in Colombo, the decision was taken to hold the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka and it will be held in the T20 format. Sri Lanka retained the rights to host the Asia Cup 2022.

Actually, Sri Lanka was to host the Asia Cup 2020 but it was postponed twice due to the Covid. The qualifiers for Asia Cup will start on 20th August and this prestigious trophy will start on 27th August.

The final will be held on 11th September 2022. In this general annual meeting, ACC decided to continue Jay Shah as President till 2024. Mr Jay Shah took the reins as President from Bangladesh’s Nazmul Hassan in January 2021, reported by Cricbuzz.
