Asani Cyclone: AP Government to pay 1000 to volunteers

Asani Cyclone has weakened over the last few hours and before the landfall, it will further weaken predict IMD. AP CM YS Jagan called for an emergency review meeting with collectors and officials from coastal districts under the affect of the cyclone. After looking at the current status of the cyclone, he expressed relief that the severe cyclone has weakened in the sea, itself.

He asked collectors to keep updating him hour to hour about the status of the rescue operations over the affected areas in the districts. Jagan announced a compensation of Rs. 2000 per family who are brought to the rescue or refugee camps. And to the volunteers who help them in this mission, he asked the officials to pay Rs. 1000, each.

Jagan further advised the officials to be quick and alert to the situation as the state cannot handle huge economical crisis that a cyclone can bring at this point of time. He asked them to help the people who could be affected and take all measures to minimize the damage.

IMD is predicting landfall of Asani cyclone near Machilipatnam and it is currently located 50 kms South East to Machilipatnam. Heavy rains are predicted in Krishna, Guntur, West Godavari districts while thunder showers are predicted in Vizag and other coastal areas. Due to Asani Cyclone landfall, even Telangana areas could receive light to medium showers in coming two days.
