Ambati Rayudu to retire from IPL after this season

Ambati Rayudu has been one of those cricketers who suffered throughout his career more due to political issues and personality rather than gaming abilities. Always looked upon as a serious talent faced humiliation in Hyderabad, his home Ranji team and then he shifted to Andhra Pradesh team.

He took aggressive step against BCCI to join rebel ICL T20 league as they haven’t been selecting him in National team and then got banned. His ban got revoked and he finally got a much deserved run in Indian National Team as ODI specialist.

His performances in IPL for Mumbai Indians really changed his fortunes and he acquired fame as a dependable batsman. He joined Chennai Super Kings later and continued to become one of the key players for the franchise in the middle order. His aggressive style of batting is feared by many bowlers in IPL.

The cricketer got into a controversy when he trolled then National Selection Committee chairman MSK Prasad for “3D player comments” and not picking him for CWC 2019 initial squad. Post World Cup, Amabati Rayudu announced retirement from International Cricket and domestic cricket. He continued to play IPL. Now, he announced retirement from IPL post 2022 season.

He thanked both Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings teams for giving opportunities to represent them in past 13 years in IPL. He has been part of title winning teams in both sides 5 times in his entire IPL career. This season he batted poorly for CSK. He announced his decision on the social media handle on Twitter and now, deleted the Tweet.
