Acharya team takes this step to recover losses

Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan starred together in Acharya for the first time. The movie is written and directed by Koratala Siva. Movie had to go through major number of hurdles due to pandemic and delays in production due to the unavailability of Ram Charan and then delays in release due to ticket prices issue.

With so many delays, the hype and buzz around the movie died down prior to the release. Distributors are said to be losing more than Rs. 75-80 crores according to trade analysts. Most of the distributors are asking for refund from the producers and Chiranjeevi has offered to return Rs. 5 crores and rights for one of his next releases.

Now, the producers have decided to release the movie on OTT platforms early and for this they will get Rs. 18 crores from the OTT platform extra to the agreed amount. The OTT release date will be announced by the platform that bought the rights soon. This step will recover some losses and producers might offer some of the amount to various distributors who are asking only for refund and no other film rights.

Koratala Siva is said to be slightly upset with the result and he is taking time off to concentrate on his next movie with Jr. NTR. Movie shoot could start from June. Megastar Chiranjeevi as moved on to his next films and Ram Charan is busy with Shankar’s film.
